Dopo i 29 gradi di Mercoledì, nonostante le previsioni speravamo in una giornata altrettanto calda. Il che ci avrebbe permesso di goderci al 100% le spiagge della Great Ocean Road e magari, perchè no, ci poteva scappare anche il bagno.

Non è andata affatto così. La temperatura si è abbassata di circa 10-12 gradi, le condizioni atmosferiche ci hanno deliberatamente tradito. La pioggia fina intermittente e il forte vento ci hanno dato un po da fare. Spinti dalla voglia di West Coast, decidiamo di fare la Great Ocean lo stesso.

Emanuela chiaramente si è dimenticata di caricare macchina fotografica e videocamera, così dopo 10 metri di Great Ocean Road è rimasta “a piedi”. Ma Fabbri c’era. Non si può iniziare senza la foto di rito, stavolta però fatta con il mio van e non con una macchina a noleggio…

Non fatevi ingannare, nonostante la pioggia è stata comunque una bellissima giornata (come potete vedere dalle foto). Grazie alla ottima spesa mattutina, pranzo e snack non sono stati un problema..la pasta alle zucchine della sera, senza le zucchine (dimenticate), è stata un po un problema. Il sugo pronto Barilla alle olive e un tocco di Sourush hanno comunque soddisfatto il gruppetto.

Date le temperature esterne, avremmo dovuto dormire tutti e 4 nel Van (la tenda per le ragazze con pericolo pioggia e vento forte non era proprio il caso) ma un provvidenziale ed economicissimo Caravan Park con cabine, ci ha salvato. 4 letti, riscaldamento, frigo, cucina, televisore e bagno tutto a prezzo comunque inferiore a quello di un ostello. Che culo!

Come avevamo programmato, ci svegliamo alle 6.30. Emanuela e Beatrice erano in posizione gemellare:

Dopo una breve colazione e alcuni brevi preparativi ci mettiamo in viaggio: erano le 8… Il viaggio da Warrnambool per Adelaide procede piacevolmente senza intoppi. Ci fermiamo diverse volte, come in questa per ammirare i campi in versione primaverile. Ad un certo punto Sourush ci chiede di poter correre un po e di riprenderlo su col van dopo qualche minuto…come i cani. La tentazione di lasciarlo la dopo la richiesta e la mezz’ora di percussione che ci ha regalato era tanta, ma in fondo siamo tutte e 3 persone buone…

Sempre lungo il cammino, su decisione molto democratica delle due donzelle mentre stavo dormendo di dietro, ci siamo fermati in una delle tantissime Winery dello stato del Victoria. Un assaggino di vino, qualche foto, una bottiglia acquistata per le grandi occasioni di Merlot/Cabernet/Shiraz e qualche gadget.

Abbiamo iniziato a riempire la fiancata non vetrata del Van con gli adesivi dei posti che visitiamo. Tra questi compare l’adesivo di Hamilton, di cui non riveleremo la storia per rispetto degli italiani onesti.

Arriviamo ad Adelaide e troviamo un ostello di fortuna, dove il proprietario ci permette di parcheggiare la macchina nel retro. Dopo aver sistemato tutta la nostra roba si parte per il centro città, dove le ragazze contraggono nuovamente una malattia pericolosissima: quella dello shopping. Dopo una cena thailandese, si torna in ostello.

Le nostre strade si separano per un giorno. Sourush, Beatrice ed Emanuela partono per Kangaroo Island alle 6 del mattino, per tornare alle 11 di sera. Io resterò a girovagare per Adelaide (tra due giorni la pubblicazione, mentre io percorrero il Null Harbor)

After having 29°C in Wednesday, beside the weather forecast we hoped in another hot day for our Great Ocean Road trip. We were wrong. The temperature went down of 10-12 degrees and there were rain (in some moments) and a strong wind. We wanted to move from Melbourne, so we decided to do it anyway.

Emanuela forgot to recharge the video-camera and the camera, so after 10 minutes of Great Ocean Road they died, one after the other one. I was there anyway So, the typical picture in front of the sign…

Beside the rain and the wind, anyway, it was a beautiful day (as you can see from the pictures). Thanx to the morning shopping, we had a nice lunch and snack. If we didn’t forget the zucchini, maybe we could do a good Pasta with Zucchini as planned for hours. Anyway the useful Barilla ready souce saved us, thanx also to Sourush that added his touch of vegetaria style.

We had to sleep in the van, according to the plan. Then, we found a really cheap Caravan Park with cabins for the four of us, with bathroom, kitchen, tv, heater and fridge. Really cool!

Like we planned, allarm clock at 6.30. I found the girl in that twin position:

After a fast breakfast, we left the Campervan Park at 8 The trip from Warrnambol to Adelaide was very nice. We stopped few times, like for admire the country side in spring time:

Sourush asked us to run a little bit and to pick-up him again after few meters. After he played the drum for half an hour, we thought to leave him there, but at the end of the day we are good person…

We stopped also in one of the thousand Winery of Victoria for a democratic decision: the girls can’t stay sober for so long and i was sleeping in the back. Result: pictures, a bottle of wine and few gadget.

We started to fill the side of the van without window with stickers of the place we visisted. There is also a sticker from Hamilton, but i don’t want to speak about how we get it for respect of the honest italian people that are reading us.

We arrived in Adelaide and we found a nice hostel. The manager allowed us to park the car in the back of it. After fixing our stuff, we went to the center and the girl get sick again: shopping time…it’s friday and the shops are open until 9 here! After a thai dinner, we got back to the hostel.

We split our path for one day only: they are all going to Kangaroo Island for a day. I was there already in March, so I decided to enjoy Adelaide (the post will be published in 2 days, meanwhile I’m driving in the Null Harbor).
