Lasciata Cervantes e i suoi pinnacoli alle nostre spalle, in prima mattinata ci mettiamo in macchina con destinazione Kalbarri, dove ci aspetta uno dei tanti parchi nazionali della costa occidentale. Ci fermiamo 15 minuti a GreenHead, perchè il nome ci ispirava:

In the early morning we left Cervantes and the Pinnacles, with Kalbarri as final destination. We stopped 15 minutes to GreenHead, just because we liked the name:

E poi a Port Denison, perchè la Lonely Planet diceva che c’erano i cormorani e i pellicani (che ovviamente non c’erano):

And then in Port Denison, because the Lonely Planet said that there were cormorants and pellicans (but obviously, nothing was there):

Tappa pranzo a Geraldton, ultima “grande” cittadina prima del nulla, dove abbiamo fatto la spesa e addirittura prendeva il telefono Poi, una bellissima strada per arrivare a Kalbarri:

Dove arriviamo, ci prendiamo la piazzola nel Caravan Park e ci andiamo a vedere il tramonto:

Il giorno successivo è dedicato alla visita del Parco Nazionale. Dopo la solita salutare colazione, continuamo la cabala della visita al mare, dove Vanessa ha avuto un antipasto dell’offroad che la aspettava:

We spent the day after visiting the National Park. After the usual healty breakfast, we liked to see the sea again, where Vanessa had some off-road as an entree for the day:

Una visita di dovere ai pericolosissimi animali che popolano l’Australia:

Poi i 25km di fuoristrada (Diego, dove cazzo è il tuo LandCruiser!) che, dopo i primi momenti di timore, vengono affrontati alla Colin McRae (seguirà video, quando possibile). Questo sforzo ci porta ad intraprendere una faticosissima camminata di 4 ore dalle 10 fino alle 2, notoriamente il momento migliore per mettersi sotto il sole nelle zone semidesertiche con 1232482938 mosche che non ti lasciano un attimo di tregua.

Then, 25km offroad (return…Diego, where the fuck is your LandCruiser!). After some timors at the beginning, i start to affront them like Colin McRae (video soon!). Once there, we decided to do a 4 hours walk from 10AM to 2PM, notoriously the best time of the day to stay under the sun in semi-desertic area with 1232482938 flies around you.

Dopodichè, dato che Soroush era da raccogliere col cucchiaino, siamo tornati con calma a Kalbarri.

After that, even because i had to pick-up Soroush with a t-spoon, we came back to Kalbarri.

Nota di servizio: A Vanessa piacere bere (non che la vera Vanessa scherzi). In mattinata le sono stati aggiunti ben 3 litri d’olio. Ai misteri di fatima ci si aggiunge come siamo riusciti ad arrivare fino a qui senza…
